The harsh reality is that both pediatric cancer treatment and research are extremely costly. Our team works tirelessly to help fund both through the concept of "kids helping kids"! Each year, Hoops for Hope USA takes to the basketball court in a fun filled event to help #crushkidcancer! Our high school division is located in Kansas City with the goal of offsetting treatment costs for families at Children's Mercy Hospital who are currently battling pediatric cancer. Our college division is spread across the country and proudly partners with Dick Vitale and The V Foundation to contribute to cutting edge pediatric cancer research.
Hoops for Hope USA originated in Overland Park, Kansas at Blue Valley Southwest High School during the 2011 school year. Some aspects of our model were inspired by "Bookstore Basketball" at the University of Notre Dame, where our founder attended undergraduate school. The concept has since spread nationally to various high schools and colleges across the United States by encouraging kids to help kids who are fighting pediatric cancer. Other schools who wish to use our model and fight with these brave kiddos and their families can do so by contacting us at firstname.lastname@example.org
